:droooool: –ahem. Yes.
Frankie Rose (ex-Vivian Girl, ex-Crystal Stilts, ex-Dum Dum Girl) and her band The Outs finally have a full-length LP ready for release.

It is self-titled and will be put out on Slumberland Records September 21st.
YEEES. I have been waiting for this band to have a full-length since I first heard the “Thee Only One” single last year. This kind of atmospheric, dreamy, straightforward pop just drives me crazy. This album is going to be a more ‘hi-fi’ approach to the kind of music Rose has worked with in the past so it would seem that Wavves isn’t the only one polishing their sound with flying colors this year.
Oh, and this new single, “Little Brown Haired Girls”? Incredible. Listen below.
New Album from Blonde Redhead

Blonde Redhead are known the world over for their fascinating style of music. You can’t really pin it down to a lot of things, I mean, ‘dream-pop’, and ‘indie rock’ don’t really cut it.

Anyway, the band has been working diligently on their eighth studio album, Penny Sparkle. The album seems like it may have been a rather strong ‘passion project’ for the band considering that they traveled to Stockholm, Sweden to work on it. Listen to a track from the album, “Here Sometimes” below.
Penny Sparkle is out on 4AD September 14th (13th outside the US).

Jack Tatum, aka Virginia’s Wild Nothing, will be releasing his first LP on Captured Tracks tomorrow May 25th! This is his band.

I posted earlier on this guy’s Summer Holiday 7″ which I really liked. He’s quite adept at writing some great dream pop hooks.
I’ve included a perfect example below. It’s a track off of the new record called “Chinatown”.
The Pains of releasing a new single

(From L-R: Kurt, Kip, Alex, Peggy)
Brooklyn’s dream-pop sensation The Pains of Being Pure At Heart are just coming off of their tour time and have a new single coming out soon!
This is pretty exciting news, guys. I’ve been waiting for something to stir from this band since the release of their Higher Than The Stars EP last year.

It would seem that my waiting paid off. :) The single is called “Say No To Love” and will be backed with a song called “Lost Saint”. After it’s release on June 8th, the band will embark on a short tour of the lower East coast of the country with Surfer Blood and Hooray for Earth. Once the tour’s complete, the band will begin working on their sophomore LP. Naturally, the single’s coming out on Slumberland Records.
Tour Dates:
6/3 Milford, CT Daniel Street
6/4 Rochester, NY The German House
6/5 Buffalo, NY The Tralf
6/6 Cleveland, OH Beachland Ballroom
6/8 Memphis, TN Hi Tone Cafe
6/9 Birmingham, AL Bottletree Cafe
6/10 Tallahassee, FL The Engine Room
6/11 Orlando, FL Club at Firestone
6/12 Miami, FL Grand Central – Poplife 11
6/13 Jacksonville, FL Jack Rabbits
6/15 Carrboro, NC Cat’s Cradle
6/16 Washington, DC Black Cat
I can only imagine what this single will sound like; probably the same format the band’s always had. But hey, it’s not like that’s going to stop you from listening to it. Plus, dig that artwork. :)
